Namaste Italy!!!

This is a true story based on a simple man named Mahendra who fought against all the odds and despite being knocked out by life ruthlessly, raised back to his feet stronger than before. A man who has set the best example that an Indian can achieve anything when stuck to his roots. Presently, Mahendra Mahi Sirsat is a successful entrepreneur in Italy who is spreading the Indian culture in a #MoreIndianThanYouThink way.

So here it goes...

Nagpur, a small town in the Maharastra state is stuffed with rich Indian culture. The religious festivals are celebrated with a great zeal in this city and the various mythological temples and places have made Nagpur one among the auspicious city in India. It wouldn't be wrong to say that the Indian culture is in the air in Nagpur and hence every person who is born here has it running in his veins.

Mahendra was born and brought up in this city, Nagpur. As a child, his mornings were spent doing yoga with his dad. His dad would proudly tell at home how Mahendra was a fast learner and did every poses perfectly even at such a young age. His evenings went playing the games like Gilli Danda and Goti in the streets of Nagpur. When the sun would set and the aroma of tempering from the curries and vegetables would linger the entire town, which was being prepared for dinner by the women of the house, his Aai (mother) would call out his name loudly but sweetly, asking him to get back home. Mahendra would run back to his small house to enjoy the hot and crispy bhaji made by his Aai, served along with spicy chutney and lots of love. The house that Mahendra lived was too small for his traditional joint family to fit in comfortably. He could sense his mother's adjustments and compromises even at such a young age. He used to say, 'When I will grow up, I will build a palace for you Aai'. His mother would ignore him with a smile thinking that he was just a child weaving dreams which will fade with the time. Being in a small town with such a sparse earnings as then, building even an average house was a distant dream.

Mahendra grew up but his dream of building a palace for his Aai did not vanish with time. In fact, it became even stronger with the every passing day. He spent many sleepless nights thinking different ways of making his dream come true but everything he did in Nagpur seemed like tiny droplets of dew in front of his vast ocean like dream.

One fine day in the late evening, Aai heard someone knock their house door. On opening the door, she found a thin young man with fair complexion and trimmed beard standing behind the door. He enquired for Mahendra and so she asked him to come inside and have a seat. His tall stature made him bend a little lower while entering their house. He took his seat on one of the plastic chair sitting in their modest but neat and tidy, dimly lit room. Mahendra came out of another room surprised to see some stranger asking for him. He strained his eyes to look at him and it took him a few seconds to realize that this man is none other than his old friend named Raghav, who had suddenly disappeared 10 years ago. When Mahendra had learned that even his parents had no idea where he has gone, he along with his other friends had searched him through every street and every corner of Nagpur for days and nights together. But all their efforts were in vain. Mahendra was excited to see him and even before he could say a word he hugged him tightly. The excitement in Raghav too was no less than Mahendra. Just as the old friends finished welcoming each other, Mahendra informed his Aai that he will be back in sometime and both left the house for a walk to their old usual place. Reaching there both the friends became nostalgic and laughed their hearts out recalling the naughty memories of their childhood until their eyes flooded with the uncontrollable happy tears. And then, for a moment, the sudden silence crept in between both of them. It was then when Raghav slowly began narrating his story.

He told him how one of his uncles spoke to his parents about taking Raghav to some European country but his parents being orthodox strictly denied it. But, it was too late as his uncle had already instilled the thought in Raghav and even he was dreaming of making it big. He then revealed how he and his uncle both hiding from the eyes of everyone made all the arrangements for getting a passport, visa and collecting the enough cash and fled to their dream destination one fine day. Within the first few days of reaching there, with few of his uncle's reference, he got a job as a cook in one of the restaurants and today after 10 years he has made enough earnings by which he can spend his entire life more than comfortably in Nagpur. Raghav was back to his roots now. Back to his home Nagpur never to go back again.

Mahendra's eyes sparkled listening to Raghav's story and he instantly knew what he has to do next. And above all, it all sounded so easy. He jumped excitingly and told Raghav that even he wants to go there and work. Raghav was more than happy to help him as much as he could. Mahendra went back to home and told his Aai about his conversation with his friend. With initial denials, Raghav convinced everyone at his home and within few months he arranged all that was required and finally set on his journey to Italy.

On reaching Italy, Mahendra checked into a modest hotel room with Raghav's guidance. He was exhilarated thinking about how easily everything was falling in its places. After all, until now everything was happening exactly the way it was planned. He spent that day exploring the city around. Italy did not fail to mesmerize him in the every step that he took. After getting back to his room that night, lying on his back and gazing at the ceiling he imagined himself sitting in his palace like a house with his Aai, eating hot and crispy bhaji made by her, served along with spicy chutney and lots of love. He recalled his childhood words 'When I will grow up, I will build a palace for you Aai' and fell asleep.

Mahendra woke up early morning next day and after finishing with his daily Yoga, he left his hotel in search of a job. He went to the employment registrar office as per the Italian rules to register his resume and other documents. He had a tough time communicating as none of them understood what he was trying to say. He somehow managed to complete all the formalities and his resume registered successfully. That was the day when his mind slowly began to register that it was not going to be as easy as he had thought. Tired he returned back to his hotel in the night. Lying on his back and gazing at the ceiling he consoled himself that it was just the first day and next morning would be better. He fell asleep with the words swirling in his mind again 'When I will grow up, I will build a palace for you Aai'.

Slowly the days turned into weeks and weeks into the month. One month had passed but yet, Mahendra was not getting any response for his job. His quick learning skills have helped him learn some of the basic Italian by now, by which he was able to communicate with the people around. His savings were all depleted rapidly and now he was left with no much cash. In just a few days later there came a time when he had to even leave his hotel and just wander the streets only to be disappointed by the end of the day. During nights he slept on the benches in the park, but the unbearable freezing cold of Italy knew no mercy. To avoid the cold, he used to cover himself under the debris of old newspapers. After doing his morning Yoga in the park, he would go to registrar office to inquire only to be disappointed by the end of the day. He was slowly losing hopes. But even the mere thought of returning back to Nagpur petrified him. The words 'When I will grow up, I will build a palace for you Aai' kept on resonating in his mind whenever he thought of giving up.

A few days later he was left with only a mere amount of cash which would be enough just for a weeks food supply. With a heavy heart, he was finally making his mind prepared to accept the reality and return back to India. That morning just like any other day, he finished with his daily yoga and was shocked to see a lady staring right into his face, as he opened his eyes. He hesitated a little and then questioned her, "Che cosa sta cercando?"(What are you looking for?). When she heard him speak Italian, her eyes glittered and she was visibly relaxed. At first, she apologized him, for her sudden appearance but then revealed how eager she was to know more about Yoga. She told him that she had read the benefits and seen videos on yoga on the internet and had always wanted to learn it and practice herself. After their conversation for a while, she came to know about Mahendra's struggle for a job. She thought for a while and offered him if he could teach her a yoga, she could pay him for it. Mahendra fumbled for words. To him, yoga was just a casual thing which he was doing since his childhood just as a daily routine. He had not even imagined in his distant dream that he could use it for his earning someday. He instantly agreed and started to teach her yoga immediately from the next morning, in the same park where they had met the previous day. Just as his first session was about to end, seeing them doing the yoga poses, there came an another man expressing his interest in yoga.

15 years later...

Mahendra now runs a yoga institute named Krishnalila in Turin, Italy and is quite popular among Italians. He has a huge number of Italians as his yoga students today.

A Dream Home...

After flying all day long, the bird makes sure to get back to its nest. So are we human beings. Our house always has a special place in our heart. No matter where we stay; the mere imagination of our house is enough to make us miss it. There are so many infinite memories associated with our house, which we carry with us throughout our life.

I had always considered buying a house as a big achievement in one's life. Staying in a rented house would never give the same feeling as staying in one's own house. I remember every single moment of that day, when I had purchased my first house. Though my first home was just a 1 BHK, it was no less than a Villa to me. I remember how I had got the goosebumps the moment I entered it, for the very first time. My excitement was at the peak and I had absolutely no intentions to hide it. All the rooms that I entered, gave me a sense of satisfaction. I had made all the mental notes of each and everything at that moment itself. Which thing would be placed in which corner, what interior decorations that I would make, which wall would be painted in which color, including the color of the curtains, were all decided in that one brief moment. A moment, an unforgettable one!

That was the moment when I knew what this place meant to me. Every penny that I had saved in these many years, were all spent to buy a house. It was as if I was completed on that day. The dream that I had possessed since such a long time, had finally come true. My past, present and the future all had whirled up in one moment and I had suddenly felt how lucky I was. The house had painted my future beautifully in front of my eyes. I had imagined, having an evening tea, every evening sitting in the balcony, while watching the beautiful view. My imagination had also made me think about my little kids going to school and my greeting them goodbye from the balcony.

From that day onwards, my attitude towards life had changed completely. Even at work I was more efficient and productive than earlier. This was because of  the peace and positivity that I felt from inside, after beginning my new life in my new house. The satisfaction I got from the house could not be compared with anything. All the minute requirements in the house was taken special care of me. House decoration ideas, which never came in my mind, when I use to stay in a rented house, came and were applied.

Today, I know, that one moment of buying an own house is responsible to change my present and the future.

Bigger Lessons In Smaller Gestures...

Whatever we are today, it is just because someone has guided us in our life. There is always someone or the other behind us for our success as well as for our failures. Today, when I see myself as a self dependent woman, I know who is the reason behind it. I have heard people saying that I am her reflection. Yes! It is my Mom who has taught me how to be independent in life. And, I am really thankful to her for teaching me so many bigger things through her small gestures, which I will carry with me throughout my life.

I still remember that plastic jar, that had a small opening at the top of it, which my mom had given me when I was a kid. It was my first piggy bank. She would give me some coins every day, which I would happily add in the plastic bottle. That small start in life, when I was a kid have taught me how to make savings. Today, I don't have to ask for any financial help from anyone, because, that small habit which I have learnt as a kid, has always kept me with sufficient savings. Only because of that habit, I am also able to make a proper financial management at home.

Not only in terms of finance. My Mom never restricted me from exploring new things. In spite of me being an only daughter, I have never faced any hindrance from exploring new places. Because of which, now I can easily go to any new place and adjust there without any difficulty. She had given me full freedom to make my own decisions. Whether it was choosing my Engineering subjects or it was to make a career decision, she never forced her opinions on me.

Today, I manage both, work and house at the same time. I have not kept any maid for my help. The only fact of being dependent on a maid makes me sick and that's the reason I completely avoid them. I have seen my friends, who are so much dependent on a maid. If one day the maid doesn't come, then  they become completely helpless. But, that's not the same with me. My mom who use to teach me little household work, has made me so much self reliant, that today I am proud to say that I am able to manage both work and house at the same time, effortlessly without taking any bodies help.

My Mother is a single mom. But, despite of all the difficulties that she had faced while bringing me up, she has taught me the right lessons at the right time and have helped me grow as a person. Whatever I am today I owe it to her.

Cars and Quikr...

After a lot of research with hundreds of dealers, Rahul had bought a car. It was a 5 sitter car. Buying a car was a proud moment for him. After all, his dream of buying his own car was finally fulfilled. Rahul was a crazy car lover.  He loved his car and flaunted it proudly. But, within a few days of buying a car, he got engaged and with that he also realized that after his marriage, his entire family wouldn't fit in his 5 sitter car. So he thought to replace his existing car with a larger one. But, this time he did not want to waste much of his time behind the car dealers. Nor he was willing to buy a brand new car this time. He spoke about his concern with one of his friends. And there he found a quick solution for his problem.

Yes! Rahul's friend gave him the details about the Quikr.com. A perfect place where one can buy or sell any stuff, sitting at home, just by a few clicks. Rahul liked the suggestion. As soon as he reached home, the first thing he did was to open his laptop and search for the Cars in Cars & the Bikes section on Quikr. To his surprise, he got a big list of cars. The best thing he learnt was that there was no need to share the contact number with every caller as the quikr.com has implemented a new amazing functionality by which one could easily chat with buyers and seller using the chat function and that too without sharing the personal number.

He quickly clicked a photo of his car and posted it on Quikr. Within few minutes of posting an ad, he got a chat message from one of a buyer. He loved this chat function as because of it his personal space was not hindered from receiving calls from fake buyers. The other important thing he observed was only genuine buyers were sending him the messages. He could easily connect with the genuine buyers from his desktop, mobile app, and by his mobile site. Very soon he got a good deal for his car and he sold it.

Now it was his turn to buy a 8 sitter car. And this time he did not require any help from dealers or anyone else. As he had quikr now. He quickly searched for a car that he needed. Within no time he got hundreds of results. He contacted a few sellers using his chat app on mobile. And after certain negotiation, he finalized a bigger and better car for him and his family.

So this is a Rahul's story on how he replaced his existing car on something better. Rahul is a happy Quikr.com user. Have you ever tried Quikr to buy or sell something? If not, then do give a try.

Asus Zenfone... An Ideal Valentine...

As the Valentine's day was nearing, where ever I went I was bombarded with only one question. What are the plans for the Valentine? I was tired of explaining it to everyone that I was single and I absolutely had no plans for the Valentine. I ignored everyone with a smile as if I was not bothered by such questions. But, somewhere deep within even I had a wish. A wish to celebrate this Valentine 's day with someone special.

A special someone who just had five qualities. The qualities were like, someone who would not complain to click any number of my pictures, someone who would never be bored of shopping, someone who could sing a song for me, someone who would love to play games with me and someone who would love to watch my favorite movies any number of times. I  gave a thought about it and found it just impossible to find the one with all the qualities. But then, all of a sudden a thought popped in my mind. All these qualities made me remember just one thing. And that thing was an Asus Zenfone.

Yes, An Asus phone had all the qualities that I wished to have in my Valentine. So, I thought, why shouldn't I have an Asus Zenfone who would love me unconditionally.

I took my laptop and straight away typed  http://www.flipkart.com/asus. To my surprise, I got a list of beautiful Asus handsets in the search results. It was difficult to choose one as every single piece was more better than the other. However, after some time I selected one of the best and ordered it immediately.

As expected, the Flipkart's best service delivered the phone the next day itself. And, that was a Valentine's day. I opened the phone and I just loved the look and feel of it. It was the love at first sight. I quickly turned it on and started exploring its features. My love for Asus kept on increasing with the every passing second. 'What else could have been a better Valentine's?', I thought.

Now you must be thinking that how could a simple phone be an ideal Valentine, Isn't it? Well, let me explain how all my wishes came true with the use of an Asus Zenfone.

My First Wish - Someone who would not complain to click any number of my pictures:
Now that I had found that special one, my new Zenfone, I made a plan to go out on a dinner. I wore a best dress of mine and clicked so many selfies. The high quality 5 elements optical camera lens of my Asus Zenfone and PixelMaster gave me the amazing selfies and made me look even more beautiful.

My Second Wish- Someone who would never be bored of shopping:
Asus Zenfone which is powered by Intel Atom Processor with Intel Hyper threading technology, loaded the shopping websites faster. The images were downloaded quickly, which gave me a great online shopping experience.

My Third Wish- Someone who could sing a song for me:
The Zenfone which utilizes Intel Atom 2520 processor, gives great power efficiency. So the phone can play any number of songs without worrying about the battery life.

My Fourth Wish- Someone who would love to play games with me:
My Zenfone's Intel Processor and HD display gives an amazing gaming experience and I can even do multiple tasks at once as I can easily switch in between the apps.

My Fifth Wish- Someone who would love to watch my favorite movies any number of time:
The widescreen, HD display and the long battery life gave me everything needed to watch my favorite movies without giving a second thought.

So, all the qualities I needed were embedded in one Asus Zenfone which loved me unconditionally making itself my ideal Valentine.

Life Made Easy With Quikr Chat...

As any other women, shopping is the most favorite task of mine. Take me to the shopping malls and I can spend the entire day there buying the stuffs I need, and also which I don't need. But, due to my busy schedule its been almost impossible to take out some time for shopping. The only Sunday, which I get also passes as quickly as a bullet fired from a gun. Thanks to the online shopping sites, which have made my life so much easier and hence better. Sitting at home, I can buy anything that I want, in just a few clicks. Shopping is on my finger tips.

Since last few years, I have been a loyal quikr.com user to buy and sell stuffs. The best thing I love about quikr is, unlike so many other shopping sites, quikr is most innovative. It has always kept changing itself by adding new features which make a shoppers and buyers life more and more easier. To be precise, lets have a look at the new feature included in quikr.

Quikr has introduced a new feature and it is Chat. This is one unique feature which lets the buyer and seller chat with each other, as per their availability. The advantages of chat over phone are many. Lets have a look at some of them.

1) KEEP YOUR NUMBER PRIVATE:

To ensure your number to be private when you post any add on quikr, one has to follow a few steps as mentioned in the above image and your number will be set as private. Keeping number private has spared me from receiving so many fake calls. There was a time when I use to get the calls in the middle of the meeting from the buyers and also from fake people claiming to be a buyer. But, now this new chat feature has come as a relief by which I can communicate only with the genuine buyers and save my time.

2) CHAT AT YOUR CONVENIENCE:

By using chat option, now I don't have to worry about receiving calls in the middle of the meeting. This is because now I can reply to the buyers as per my availability and free time. Also, it becomes easier to judge out who is the genuine buyer. Chat have made me take control for buying and selling.

3) KEEP TRACK OF ALL YOUR CHATS:

In past it was quite difficult to remember our conversation with buyers. Most of the time I use to get so many calls from buyers, which would ultimately make me confused. The matter would get even worse if I would post more than one item to sell. Keeping track about which buyer is interested to buy what, was a tedious task. I remember maintaining an excel sheet to keep track of the callers. Thanks to quikr, for introducing chat feature which has helped me keep track of the callers and the conversation with them.

The new chat feature, by quikr have taken the online buying and selling to a whole new level.

Be My Valentine For The Lifetime...

Two years had gone by since I first saw him. Today, when I look back, these two years seem just like a moment to me. And sometimes they seem like a millennium. I am not aware if he knows what I exactly feel for him. If only he had looked in my eyes, he could have known the depth of my love. But, alas, that day is yet to come. Even after two long years, when I see him, I can sense the same cyclone within me, as it was on that day.

How could I forget that day? It was the first day in my office. Uncomfortable, confused among the strangers around, I was sitting in a cafeteria, during the lunch break. After an uneasy first half in the office, I was feeling strange to look at the people around me. Everyone was busy in their world with their own group of friends. Nobody was bothered about the girl who was sitting alone, not understanding what to do next. I sometimes offered a smile to some of the known faces, whom I had met in the first half of the day, in the office. But, got no response for my smile as well. I opened my lunch box and closed my eyes for a short prayer, that I usually do before having my food. As I opened my eyes after the prayer, I saw a guy sitting in front and starring in an amusement towards me. Not understanding how to react, I just smiled and greeted with a formal, Hello.

He came out of his trance like state and had spoken in a masculine voice, "There is no table vacant here. I hope you don't mind sharing this table with me".

"I don't mind", I had whispered with a smile.

My observant nature, did not stop me from noticing him. In his blue formal shirt he looked out of the world. He was unique amongst all, and so was alone. People generally find it hard to understand such unique personalities and make their own judgment about such people, without even knowing them, and thus they are left all alone. Not that such unique people would need anyone to pollute their own cocoon in which, they keep themselves enclosed.

He carried on with his lunch without even looking at me. A strange attraction drew me towards him. For the very first time I was feeling all nervous and happy at the same time. And then, he suddenly looked at me. Our eyes met and my heart skipped a beat. He had finished with his lunch. Greeting me bye in his mesmerizing voice, he left.

Later, on that day itself, I was introduced to him by one of my team mates. "Meet Aakash, one of the smartest designer in our office", he had said. From that day onwards, I made reasons and took my lunch break along with him. We would share the table at lunch time and slowly I realized he started liking my company. I could sense his comfort level increasing with each passing day. We became quite close and loved spending time with each other. Even after two years we were the same.

Last week, when we had been out for a lunch he had stopped near a toy shop and showed me how much he loved one of the remote control car. The kid like a spark in his eyes was evident for his liking of the remote control toy. For next couple of hours he kept explaining me about the specifications of the car. An idea popped in my mind. Next week will be the valentines day and I was thinking of the ways to propose him on this day. Yes, gone are the days when only the guy would propose. I had made my mind not to wait any more and let him know my feelings before it's too late.

The day had come and as expected everyone left office early, to celebrate the day with their loved one. Now only we both were left working. I had bought the toy car which he had shown me in the previous week. I decorated a small note, and pasted on the car top.

As he was engrossed in his work, I slowly sent the car towards him, with the help of remote control, and stopped near his desk. With a surprising expression he took the car in his hand and read out the note loudly, which said,

'WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE FOR THE LIFETIME!!!'

He looked around and saw me. A soothing smile spread across his face and he said, "Yes! Of course, for the lifetime."

And we hugged...

You Just Name It.. And You Will Find It On Quikr...

"I have been offered a job in Bengaluru," Raman said excitedly.

A smile lit my face when I heard the news. Being born and brought up in a metropolitan city as Mumbai, I had never got a chance to live in any other place. Mumbai provided and fulfilled every need of mine. Whether it was my schooling, college, job or my marriage. Everything was done in Mumbai. Finally, my dream of migrating to some other place and experiencing a new life was going to be fulfilled.

"How come Raman? When did you apply for it?", I asked surprised.

Raman's software profession gave him no personal time. He always made plans on how to get more things done in less available time.

"I had applied for a job online.", Raman confessed. "On Quikr."

"Quikr?", I asked in a confused tone. "I thought Quikr was only to buy and sell the old stuffs.

"Gone are the days when Quikr was just another website where we could buy or sell old stuffs", he explained. "Come, let me show you the cool home page of this site".

He switched on his laptop quickly. And there it was, the most unexpected one. There were so many new features added, which left me in an awe.

Within a week we completed all the pending tasks at Mumbai. We searched for a new house using 'Real Estate" Category on Quickr. Our preference was to stay in Jaynagar, 3rd Block, as it was quite near to Raman's new office and also a good place to stay. Unexpectedly, we got many options in the search results. It was difficult to choose one. However, we noted down a few contact numbers of concerned person.

We quickly booked a flight ticket and a hotel to check-in using 'Services' Category and left to Bengaluru.

As soon as we reached Bengaluru, we were welcomed by a cab, near airport. Raman has also booked a cab on Quikr.

"Not bad," I appreciated.

We quickly freshened up and left the hotel in the search of a house. We finalized a house, which was as per our requirement. It was our turn to buy the furniture now. Just a click on category 'Home & Lifestyle'  gave us hundreds of options to select. New as well as resale furniture were available within a fraction of second. Next, we explored 'Electronics and Appliances' category where we found the most needed TV, refrigerator and washing machine. We met the nearby seller the same day and until the end of the day, our house was set.

Looking at our new house I proudly said," Nobody would have believed, how quickly and efficiently, we have set everything in a complete unknown place, just within a day".

Raman repeated smiling,"You just name it. And you will find it on Quikr"

You, Me and the Magic...

Valentines day has always been a special day to me. As much as I remember, we Indians began celebrating this day of love in India after the movie Dil Toh Pagal Hai was released. Before that many of us did not have even a mere idea about this day. Thanks to Yash Chopra.

However, I was a teen aged when the movie was released. Since then I had been waiting for my prince charming, with whom I could enjoy every moment of this day and feel special, while also making him feel special. I had dreamed of making every possible thing, by which I would make my Valentine feel on the top of the world. But, that was easy saying then done. I got married and it was my first Valentines day with my hubby. In my busy schedule, where I had to manage both house and the office, it became next to impossible for me to make any plans for the day, which I was been waiting since I was a teen. I was disheartened. All I could do was to manage to bring a T-shirt as a gift, while getting back home from office to my hubby. It was a red coloured T-shirt, nicely gift wrapped. I placed it on his work desk.

The shopping bag, in which the T-shirt was given to me, was really an attractive one. I folded it carefully and brought it to my room. I kept the folded bag on my table and continued with my other household work. When I went back to my room, I found the shopping bag in open position on my table. I was shocked, but ignored thinking that I must have opened it and have forgotten. I found a pizza bill which I had ordered last night on my table. I dropped that bill in the shopping bag and began cleaning the table. As I turned around I was shocked to see a Pizza lying on my table. The same pizza which I had ordered last night. At first I was scared. But, it did not take me much time to realize that it was the magic of the shopping bag

An idea popped in my mind. I thought, "Why not turn this boring Valentine day into a most special day of my life, with the help of the magic bag ?" And there began my plan to rock my day.

At first, I wrote on a paper Chicken Kabab, which is one of  the favorite of my husband. I closed my eyes with anticipation and there were the delicious Chicken Kabab on my table. Next, I thought to make him even more happier, This time it was the turn of his most favorite wine, late harvest wine. I wrote it on another paper and with in no moment the wine bottle was next to the bag. Then one by one I got all his favorite dishes on our table. What can be more romantic to a foodie like my husband other then this?

It was just half an hour more for my hubby to reach home. I quickly arranged the table and placed the candles around in the room. "Balloons would make my day even more romantic", I thought. But, I had none of them. Suddenly I remembered the magic bag. I took a paper and wrote balloons on it and dropped in the bag. Within a few seconds my house was full of red and while balloons, which completely changed the aura of my house.

I appreciated myself for such a magical arrangements done in such a short time. The door bell rang. My excitement reached its peak. It was him. I welcomed him with a warm hug. He was completely surprised to see the arrangements. That look was his face was definitely worth million dollars. I surprised him even more by taking him to the dining table. All his favorite dishes were waiting just for him. We had the dinner in candle lights along with the wine. The soothing music was playing in the background.

After the dinner, I gave him the T-Shirt that I have brought.
"You have made my day the magical", He slowly whispered in my ears,"Hey my angel, where is your magical wand"?
I smiled not revealing my secret.

Melbourne... Its not a place, it is a dream...

Everyone enjoys spending time with their loved ones. So do I. Visiting a place once and then revisiting that place in memories, for million times, is something I enjoy the most. Well, not to forget; clicking the pictures at the place and posting the pictures on Facebook, aiming for the maximum likes is another thing I enjoy. Who doesn't?

Lately, I was been discussing with my spouse, regarding our trip to celebrate our second anniversary. He gave me two days to choose a good place and let him know, so that he could research a bit about the place before our visit. There began my search for a perfect place for our second honeymoon. After a bit of research on internet and talking to a friend, I came to a conclusion, that there is no better place then Melbourne to visit.

That evening, when he got back home, I told him, that I have decided a place to celebrate our anniversary, and it is Melbourne. He laughed and said, " Melbourne is a most livable city in the world and not a place to go for a holiday". His statement made me disheartened. But, I had already made my mind and had started dreaming of my visit to Melbourne. To make my this dream come true, I had to convince my husband.

Next morning, when he left for his office, I started making plans to convince him somehow. I wanted to do this in an unique way. So, I took my laptop and typed a mail which was like below.

Dear Hubby,

I know you must be surprised to see my mail at this hour of the day. Having a blogger wife for 2 years, must have made you understood by now, that we bloggers are good at expressing our feelings by writing, rather then expressing it face to face. Yesterday, when you told me that Melbourne is good a place to live and not to visit, I was confused about my decision. Then I remembered my Blog friend Shruti, who had posted her pictures of her visit to Melbourne. I immediately pinged her and asked her about her experience in Melbourne. As expected I got positive response. Now before you start thinking what is so special about the place. let me give you a brief.

Melbourne's historic architecture and modern lifestyle has given this place a complete new meaning. Its famous roof top restaurants, where we can enjoy a romantic dinner and watching a movie underneath the sky is one of my wish. Well, you can fulfill your long lasting wish of having a lager beer in Australia as well. And if this is not enough we can also visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground of which you can boost to your friends.

Our next visit to Federation Square would be one of the most amazing experience of our lifetime. There, we can not only see the mind blowing modern architecture but also the amalgamation of museums, galleries and also events along with some of the best restaurants and cafes. I have also heard that the live performance at the amphitheatre is one of the best thing that one can ever experience. Do you still think we have to miss this chance?

Just imagine how would you feel driving along the ocean 243 Kms long. Yes, that is the Great Ocean Road. I don't think we can ever get this chance in life. A drive through the Great Ocean Road is the one thing which can be imagined only in dreams. While on this amazing drive, we can also explore so many beautiful places like Torquay, Appolo Bay, Otway National Park and not to forget Anglesea, where we can see kangaroos resting under the trees. Visiting Australia and not seeing kangaroos is not fair, Isn't it?

After enjoying so many things of your choice, I think it wouldn't be wrong to think about my pleasure a little bit lastly. Yeah! your guess is right. I am talking about shopping!!! Queen Victoria Market, which is considered one of the largest market in the world, is what I wish to visit. That pretty red dress which I was not able to find in any malls in India, will definitely be available here. After that lets visit Chapel Street and shop some more. I know shopping doesn't excite you as much as it does to me, but you can do the window shopping as well.

You may also watch Tanmay and Rohan enjoying Hot Air Baloon here.

In short, sports lover, fashion freak or a foodie, Melbourne has something for everyone in stores. I hope my mail will help you to decide better. See you in the evening.

Love,

I was still not sure if my mail would change his mind. Now I had no other option but only to wait. He returned back to home at his usual time. But, there was nothing new in his behavior. I guessed that he must have not read my mail. After having his tea he as usual switched on the TV. Disappointed I went back to my room and started reading a book, Few minutes later my eyes feel on an envelop addressed with my name. I opened it carefully and found.....

Two tickets to Melbourne... :)

Bitter truth cures every pain...

Finally, the day had come. It was the most important day of my life. I was meeting him for the first time. The boundaries of long distance relationship were no more in between us. All I knew was, Aniket, my love of life, had flew down all the way from London, just to meet me. There are no words in the dictionary which could explain my feelings. One moment, I was excited and the other, I was nervous. Though we spoke everyday on Skype, meeting for the first time, face to face, of course was completely different. I was waiting in a Coffee shop for him. The butterflies in my stomach knew no limits that day. My old habit of not wearing a wrist watch, made me check my cell phone for the 150th time, to check the time. I silently cursed myself for reaching the place half an hour before the decided time. It was still 15 minutes to go, and every passing second, seemed like an hour to me.

And then, finally that moment arrived, when my heart literally forgot how to beat. There he was, walking towards me, in his charming smile. He was in white T-shirt and the blue jeans. He smiled and greeted me with a formal Hello and took his seat. His body language could make anyone guess, that his condition was no less then that of mine. His manly cologne, took my breath away. All I could do was to look at him and smile sheepishly. I observed his facial features for the first time and felt how much boyish he looked. "Skype is such a liar", I thought.

He drew a small box from his bag and handed it over to me. Only silence was talking in between us. I opened it carefully. It was a wrist watch. A beautiful one. I looked at him and he smiled once again, driving me crazy. This was his first gift. And the first sign of our love. After having a coffee he dropped me to my home. Though very less words were exchanged in between us, our entire life was curled in those two hours, we spent in a Coffee shop.

As soon as I reached home, I got a call from him. We talked for 3 hours continuously. I told him how much I liked the gift and he told me his feelings of meeting me for the first time. At one moment, we realized how comfortable we were talking on phone, then face to face. "Ah! these long distance relationships" we both uttered at once and began laughing. We both promised to spend more time  the next day. He asked me to wear the watch on our next date.

I woke up early morning and wore a best dress of mine. My new watch increased the elegance of my dress. I left my house quickly to the same coffee-shop. While waiting in the coffee shop, I took out my cell phone to check the time, out of an old habit. I patted my head, remembering that I can check the time on my new watch now; only to see my watch was missing. Sudden panic gripped me. Even before I could react, Aniket was sitting next to me. Looking at my panicked face he inquired what was wrong. I lied to him saying that my health was not good and I have to get back home. After all, I had to go back home, and search for my missing watch. He was worried now. I told him I have medicine at home which will make me feel better. He dropped me to the house quickly.

I searched for the watch everywhere at home. But, could not find it. After that day, every time I met Aniket, he questioned me if I did not like the watch, as I never wore it. Thinking that my truth would break his heart, I created a new lie every time, and told him how I forgot to wear it. My lie was hurting me more and more, with the every passing day.

Aniket met my parents as well. They liked him. It was his last day in India as his vacations were over.
He promised me to be back the very next month. I was feeling like dying inside due to the lie I was carrying on my shoulders. I finally made my mind to tell him the truth. And with all the courage I finally told him, that I have lost his first gift. To my surprise he smiled and said there was nothing to worry about it and it is absolutely fine.

Speaking out the truth was so simple. I was feeling liberated. I took out my bag to get my house keys. I was not finding it. I searched my bag once again. To my surprise, I found a hole in my bag. The inner cloth of my bag was torn a bit. Shockingly, there were my keys in that torn hole along with the wrist watch.

Aniket laughed at the top of his voice...

Please do watch the video.

Life at 418th floor...

The Sun had set and the first stars made their appearance. Richa has always loved this time of the day. She welcomed every evening with her mobile phone, in her balcony till the dark night hovered over the city. The 'Sunshine Towers' her apartment name was promptly displayed as her location, on her phone. From her 18th floor, the city looked beautiful. What more fascinated her was looking at the tiny lights from the vehicles, marching on the busy road. At least that was the time when she could find a little movement in her dull, lonely day. The loneliness in her life was slowly taking a toll on her. She remembered every second of that fateful day even today.

"Don't be a crazy. Only some supernatural power could make it possible", Richa had cried.

Abhay, her scientist husband, involved in his research from past 10 years, in making a time machine, but ultimately, just became a joke among his peers, has finally decided to move to an unapproachable place. A place where he could completely focus on his research work and one day succeed.

Abhay had politely told, "What people think as supernatural today, technology can turn all that into reality tomorrow. Just the matter of few days and I will be back".

The days turned into months and months into years. But, there was no sign of Abhay's return, even after 5 long years.

A sudden door bell, dragged Richa out from her thoughts, back to the reality. She opened the door to find none but a gift packed in a colorful paper. She picked it with curiosity and the note read 'FROM ABHAY'.

Richa could not believe her eyes. Her heart beat raised and she fell cold. She closed the door and frantically opened the box. It was an ASUS mobile phone. As soon as she switched it on, it displayed a message, 'Press OK to meet Abhay'. Without a second thought, she pressed the OK button. In a moment, she could visualize everything change around her, quickly but surely. The furniture, the wall, the paint, the electronic gadgets everything changed into something she had never seen before. All she could do was to stand dumbfounded, looking at the mobile phone in her hand, not understanding what to do next. The date in her phone indicated 25th July 2114.

She suddenly remembered the balcony where she was standing a few minutes back. She ran there to have a look. The view from the balcony, finally made her sink into the reality.

She could no more view those tiny lights from the vehicles, as the vehicle passed through the multiple tubes like structures, which have replaced the roads. The strange tall buildings everywhere around left her in awe. The giant solar power generator stood proudly in front of her eyes, which screamed that it provided electricity to the entire city. To look at the clouds she peeped down from her balcony. Just then her cell phone beeped a warning message. "You are on the 418th floor of Sunshine Towers. Your 2 minutes in the balcony are over. Please get inside or press 'O' to create an oxygen bubble around you". She got inside her house not wanting to experiment anymore.

Richa started to explore the other rooms of the house expecting to find Abhay there. But, was disappointed to see no sign of him anywhere.  It was getting dark, so she searched for a switch board to switch on the lights. To her surprise,  there was no single switch board in the entire house. She guessed that her mobile phone might help her in switching on the lights. So, she started to explore the other functions in her phone. She found a button 'home' on her mobile and pressed it.  The wings like pop out screens popped out from both the sides of her phone. One screen indicated all the electrical and electronic equipment names and other displayed the options for environmental control. She clicked on lights option on the 'home controls' screen and her house was illuminated with lights. This excited her to try out something more.

It was cold there, so she chose an option to increase the temperature of the room. Some clicks on the required buttons and her room temperature was increased as per her need. Richa then thought of trying something from 'environmental controls' screen. So she clicked on a wind option, which allowed her to enjoy a mild wind that softly caressed her face and gave her a very soothing feeling.

She sat down on a chair, dumbstruck by the phone created by her husband. After all, she could do so many miracles using her phone, which nobody could have done or seen back then in the year 2014.

Abhay's words resonated in her mind, "What people think as supernatural today, technology can turn all that into reality tomorrow". The door bell once again dragged her back from her thoughts. Simultaneously, her phone also beeped. She looked at her phone screen which displayed Abhay's image standing outside the door. A message blinked "Press 'U' to unlock the door".

Richa smiled...

Salman Khan on Baggout.. Swagat nahi karoge aap hamara?

Being a celebrity isn't an easy task. And if the celebrity is as popular as Salman Khan then there is no chance he can go out shopping in the market or crowded malls. So this is a post depicting Salman's experience on Baggout with some of his mind blowing dialogues.

Hi I am Salman Khan. Hum yahan ke Robin Hood Hain, Robin Hood Pandey. Who doesn't know me? Arey! Everyone know me yahi toh PROBLEMM ho gayi hai BOSSS. No privacy in life. One wrong move and I become the headlines of every news paper and the breaking news of every another channel.

They say no one in Bollywood can beat my fashion and style. Those follower of fashion look at me as an ideal. It is always a necessity for me to look good. Not that I need to try for that but as you know ke Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di fir toh main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta.

I was bored of wearing the same clothes by my designer. I wanted to try something new. Something of my selection. But my designer and stylist were strict against this. Phir kya? Boldiya unhe ke Main request nahi karta. Ek he baar bolta hu or full and final ho jata hai.   I decided to wear everything on my own terms and own selection. But for that I had to go out in the malls for shopping which was next to impossible for me. Some suggested me to hire a person who can do this for me. But Mujh par ek ehsan karna ki mujh par koi ehsan na karna. I straight away went to Sanju Bhai's house.

I discussed this difficulty of mine with Sanju Bhai and he gave me an Idea of Online shopping. But who has so much of time to research on different shopping website to know the best available offers. Bhai gave an onetime solution for all my worries and that was Baggout. Thanks to him.
Oops!!! No thanks. Akhir meri dosti ka ek oosul hai.. No Sorry, no thank you

Baggout miraculously solved all my difficulties in wink of an eye. Most importantly it has separate sections for separate buyers like shown below which makes it easier to find items. So many varieties available at one place and even ordering items is easy.

The best part is the amazing offers provided which saves a lot of money. As you know Main Sirf money bhai ke liye kaam karta hoon.

So this is all about my experience with Baggout. Try it out or else hum tum mein itne ched kardenge ki kanfuge ho jaoge ke sans kahan se lein aur p**** kahan se...

Recharged hair.. Recharged Life..

I have been hearing many stories since I was a child on how confidence changes ones life. Seldom did I believe that such thing existed. But, as they say nothing is permanent in this world, there came a day that changed everything. The day which not only gave me confidence but also evoked a feeling of completeness in me.

This year 2014, started with the rush of Indiblogger Sunsilk Contest. Initially when I heard of this product I was not sure what exactly this product is as it was something new in the market. Moreover, everyday a new shampoo launches with the promises to give silky-long-dark-thick-strong hair. But, I am not among one who keeps changing the product I use, every now and then. Being a loyal user of a GXXNXXR Shampoo and Conditioner from almost a decade I never imagined to change my shampoo even though my hair fall had increased a lot. Only solution that I had found was to chop down my hair to the shoulder length so that they would not get tangled and obviously not break. Days passed into months but my hair fall did not stop. I kept on ignoring it only until I met a old friend of mine who was shocked to see my reduced hair. Yes! My once thick-shiny hair had completely lost its charm.

This incident alarmed me to take some action and save my hair from becoming even more worse. From then onward I decided that it's a high time now to change my shampoo. There begin my search for a good shampoo and a conditioner. But, to choose one right shampoo out of 1000's was not a easy task. There was I, once again in confused state, wishing to get some magical wand which could solve my problem.

It was during this time I came across Indiblogger Sunsilk contest and I participated in it. Within few days I received a beautiful gift hamper from Sunsilk for participating in the contest. The hamper consisted of a Shampoo and a conditioner beautifully placed in between the green leaves, packed in a creatively designed container. This brought an end to my search. What else I needed? I immediately dumped my earlier shampoo and began to use this new one.

To my surprise right from the first use I found that my hair fall had visibly reduced. The amazing smell from this product keeps me fresh all day long. The Ginseng root and oil contents in this product moisturizes every hair. Now, after using this shampoo and conditioner regularly since a month, I can see no more fallen dead hair strands on my pillow. My hair has slowly gained back its lustrous shine and I have gained a sense of completeness in me.

Few days later I got a mail in my Inbox. It was a mail from Indiblogger stating that I am the second runner up for the Sunsilk Contest that I have participated. My excitement knew no bound. After all, Sunsilk gave me one more reason to smile. This was the first time I won for a contest on IndiBlogger. Now I am even more confident when it comes to writing. Truly Sunsilk has not only recharged my hair but also my life.

As though all these exciting things were not enough, Sunsilk again decided to send us the free samples of Shampoo and Conditioner. Even this time I was left in awe after seeing the beautiful packing of the product. Now there is no way to look behind. I don't mind saying I am one loyal user of this wonderful product.
Thank You Sunsilk !

I am not saying one will have a hair like Rapunzel by using Sunsilk recharge Shampoo and Conditioner. But, I am sure that this product is capable to beat the present shampoo that you are using.

Cloud Power!!! A Quick Solution for the Big Disasters.

Won a Microsoft Certification Exam for this post.

“Slow and steady wins the race”. I heard this slogan when I was a child and always thought, this is a mantra to be successful.  But, it was only until I joined IT profession as a Software Developer. It did not take me much time to realize that this slogan has no place in today’s fast paced era. Here, in this place you either have to be fast or screw yourself for being slow.

The only expectation from you is to give good quality software/service that too in very less time. The deadlines mock at you with the every passing second. In such a case the only aim in programmers mind is to finish off the task in hand as soon as possible without wasting any time.

Every programmer would love to be correct right in their first attempt while writing a new code to avoid scrap and rework and most importantly to avoid frustration. More over what if someone asks you to rewrite the same old existing code once again? Well, writing such unnecessary code would only add the wastage of resources which in turn could be utilized in concentrating in some other productive work.

Thanks to cloud computing for being there and bringing an end to such issues.

What is Cloud Computing?

If someone would have asked me this question 10 years back then it was acceptable. But now cloud computing being so extensively used, almost everyone related to IT sector have hit the search engine to know anything and everything about this term creating so much buzz.

But yet, to summarize in simple terms “Cloud Computing is sharing and using the computing resources hosted on the internet rather than having our own local resources”. These resources can be anything like virtual machines, database, servers, software applications and so on.

To make it even more simpler let us consider an Example of a new Online Shopping Website named ‘Shopkart.com’. Now initially when this was launched not many people knew about it and so even the visitor traffic was very less. But with the each passing day this site began to gain the popularity. More and more people visited to shop from Shopkart. The servers were not able to handle so much of load and the performance of the site began to gradually reduce. Inturn, increasing the risk of financial loss due to customer dissatisfaction. To overcome from this difficulty the new servers had to be brought and accordingly the code had to rewritten for the entire application to make it more vulnerable, to handle load and stress of increasing traffic. But this disaster recovery was time consuming as well as costly.

So, the Shopkart decided to go for cloud. Instead of rewriting the entire code the application was just migrated to cloud saving a lot of time of developers from rewriting the existing code. Also the servers were shared from cloud and this prevented the huge cost overhead for getting new own servers. This was a quick, efficient, reliable and cost friendly solution by which the people shopping from Shopkart had always a happy experience.

By this we come to a conclusion that with cloud computing a company can speed up and reduce the costs of existing processes. They make setting up of online applications extremely easier and much cheaper, then before. If we wouldn’t have cloud computing then most of the developer’s time would be wasted in figuring out the server and setting up the routers. But, now we are able to instead focus on actual product as all these things are taken care by cloud.

Smell the hell...

We are been blessed with so many things from the almighty. He created this beautiful world and showered on us with unbeatable and uncountable things. Just imagine, how would the earth be if there was no colour, no sound, no music or no smell. Would it be the same as it is now? Can't even imagine the world without these things right?

Well, let us take a moment now and think. How many times do we really appreciate the good things? Hmm.. We do it sometimes, isn't it?
But, We do appreciate good things only because we know how the evil things are. And that is why god created the evil along with the good. With music came noise and with the good smell came the bad one. Once the god found out that there is no appreciation for the good sound, he created noise. Similarly, when he realized that the people started to take the good smell he created for granted, he just created the bad one as well and said, "Smell the hell..."

Now this imports my mind back to the days when few of the incidents, I had to experience, when I have literally "Smelled the hell ". Let me share some of them with you.

One day I was late to office. Since I travel by bus to my office, I had no other option but get into a bus fully crowded. However, I just managed to fit my self in a very little space available. While I was struggling to avoid from being sandwiched in between the other people in the bus, my nose suddenly smelled some kind of a hell of a smell. Initially I could not make it out from where the smell was coming from. But it did not take me much time to find out that this rat like a smell was from one of the man standing near me. The smell was becoming more and more unbearable as the time was passing. I couldn't take it any more and just wanted to breath a fresh air. So, I pushed myself in between the crowded people and somehow managed to reach the bus door and got down from the bus as soon as the bus stopped and inhaled a gallons of a fresh air. Aahh.. relaxed. I did not mind being late for some more time. To me saving my self from the life threatening smell was more important then my boss screwing me for being late to the office.

The most stinkiest smells, that I often get to smell are in the trains and buses. One can find every kinda odour available in the world in this crowded public transports. If someone had to do some research on most stinkiest smell on the planet then all you have to do is just board some train or bus in India and you are done. Every kind of smell will be available to you free of cost.

Well, the stinky guy from the bus was however for time being. Just imagine what would you do if you had to stay with a stinky person at your room. During my college days I had a room mate who use to have shower once in 2 days. And God forbids, if there were the examinations going on, then this girl would not have the shower for days together. That would not affect her in anyways, but we, being her room mate would die because of the stinking smell of hers. This time there were no escape also. One day we decided to discuss with her the reason for her not having bath regularly. She replied,"Its very cold outside and there is no hot water available in hostel". Honestly when I heard of this contest in Indiblogger I just remembered my room mate. I wish I knew of Racold Water heaters then. I would have definitely gifted her one and save my self from the horrible smell.
